Looking to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Downtown Romeo? You do not have to travel overseas to get in the Irish spirit.
If you’re seeking an Irish experience during the St. Patrick’s Day holiday weekend, Younger’s Irish Tavern in Downtown Romeo is the place to be.
And this year is extra special for this local favorite, due to some upcoming changes.

“If you follow our social media, we made an announcement that this will be our last St. Patrick’s day as a ‘Irish Tavern,’ as we are rebranding,” says Mary Hoenicke, spokesperson for the tavern.

The event goes beyond just a March 17 celebration. Festivities kick off casually on March 16 at 6 p.m. with Irish food, drinks and music, at the tavern’s annual “St. Practice Day.”

The main event starts Sunday and kicks things up a notch. Starting at 9 a.m., patrons can enjoy green beer, and a special Irish menu that includes their famous corn beef Reuben, or corn beef and cabbage entree.

In addition to a beer tent, celebrate at the 3 outdoor patios or the tavern’s two indoor levels. Enjoy some live music on Sunday, including:

  • Paul & Oates 12 – 3 p.m.
  • 101 WRIF 3 – 5 p.m.
  • Jukebox Junkies 4 – 8 p.m.
  • Showroom DJ & Dancing
  • “Here at Youngers, we like to celebrate big,” Hoenicke says. “We really want to go out with a bang and have it be an absolute awesome bash to celebrate our many many years of being an Irish Tavern.”
